“Those in the sandwich generation must make sure they are taking care of themselves,” Mazur said.
Mazur noted that options exist for both — children’s college expenses and covering parents’ health care costs.
“There are responsible financing options for college, and parents have assets of their own,” she said. “But, you are responsible for your own expenses and your own retirement.”
Although demands may be high for 50-plus individuals when it comes to their own money, there are savings programs or perks available specifically for them.
